THE COSMIC KITCHEN DANCER

21: Potluck (The World)

During the month of December, we pulled out our cookbooks and cherished recipes, handed down from our mothers, aunts, grandmothers, and friends, to recreate the dishes we loved and shared with family and friends.

For my December Tarot card, I chose “21: Potluck” (The World); a time of completion and celebrating our accomplishments for the year.  There is no better way to do it than with food.  It has been a month of sharing, community food drives, cookie exchanges, and bringing covered dishes to work and parties.  We carried not only our potluck dishes with us to the table, but also our hope, joy, and love.

Susan’s card beautifully illustrates these feelings for me.  The kitchen dancer holding her wooden spoons while rejoicing in celebration, St. Quilta the Comforter sits in meditation welcoming her guests to the peace porridge on common ground surrounded by the world community.  The wolves guard the table displaying their unity, loyalty, and friendship while the purple waves of compassion and transformation fill our hearts.

What better way to end this year with the postscripts and affirmation Dennis has written for this card!

“Potluck Postscripts:  – Celestial hospitality – Don’t get hung up in your own little world – Right place, right time –  Detox –  Pursue your passions –  Lick the bowl clean –  Ask a favor, give a favor –  Quit your bellyaching – Life is a banquet.”    “Affirmation – All is well.”

Come gather at the table,                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                Maggie
